Hello Nutcracker Families!

This greeting is the official invitation for your dancer to participate in the 30th Annual Viktor Yeliohin International Ballet Academy Nutcracker Ballet. The performances will take place from December 1st through December 3rd at Lancaster Mennonite High School. "Casting Day" is scheduled for Saturday, August 12th from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. The end time is approximate and we will do our best to get word to you regarding pick-up for your dancer. Please do NOT send your dancers with any food. They should come with a water bottle ONLY.

Casting is an exciting day when dancers find out what part(s) they will dance for the Nutcracker. Each dancer will receive at least 2 roles – one in Act I and one in Act II. On this day, dancers will also get a schedule for upcoming Saturday rehearsal times. Depending on their part(s), they will be at the studio rehearsing at various times every Saturday, starting on August 19TH up until the show in December. Usually, the rehearsal schedule changes every 3 weeks or so. For the first few weeks, rehearsals will start around 12:45 and go until 8 PM. Your dancer will not have to be here that entire time in most cases, but just be aware of the timeframe in which rehearsals will occur during. As we get to the end of September, the rehearsal time will get shorter.

In addition, parents, please mark your calendars for the Nutcracker parent meeting which will be on August 19th from 1:00 P.M. to approximately 3:00 P.M. The location has not been confirmed yet so more information on that will be coming soon.

If your dancer would like to dance over the summer, Viktor is offering summer ballet camps during the weeks of June 19th – 23rd, July 10th – 14th and July 17th - 21st for ages 10 to 19. There are also camps for the younger dancers during the week of June 12th – 16th. For more details about registering for these fun camps, please visit the website at https://www.vyballet.com/
